Thai-Burma Railway

History often conceals unsung heroes. Today, I want to shed light on the incredible contributions of Tamil- Indian labourers in building the Thai-Burma railway—a story overlooked by many.
Dedicated historians have delved deep into the archives, revealing the sacrifices of these labourers that have long gone unnoticed. Their resilience and hard work, often in harsh conditions, played a pivotal role in shaping the region’s infrastructure.
A special thanks to Mr. David J. Boggett, Mr. JJ Karwacki M. D. M.P.H. US Army Medical Corp. and Mr. Andy Barraclouch Royal British Legion for bringing this forgotten chapter to light. Let’s honour the memory of those who laboured in silence, rewriting history to acknowledge their vital role.
Attended by the Honourable H.E. Datuk Jojie Samuel – Ambassador of Malaysia to Thailand. officials from the Embassy of India to Thailand, Mr R. Muthu and Mr Manish Rai. Mrs Chandra Sergil (UN), President of the Indian Association of Thailand Mr Chuan Thakur,
Thanks to Mr Silva Kumar for calling an eye-opening seminar at his residence.
